April 7 Anniversary (Story on Video)

Today is the five-year anniversary of when Anthony and I simultaneously surrendered our relationship to God in a powerful way, unbeknownst to each other, at our separate churches, on April 7, 2019.

And we were blessed to share the testimony today at Mt Baldy Village Church!

As I share in this video, we hadn’t even intended to celebrate it as an anniversary, but the following year, on April 7, 2020, Anthony turned to me in the morning, and without knowing why he was saying it — simply inspired by the Holy Spirit – he said to me, “Happy anniversary, baby.”

I replied something like, “Aww, happy anniversary to you!” Then I asked, “What day is it?”

And he said, “I don’t know!”

!

We checked our phones. It was April 7.

I think it was Anthony who first recalled the significance of that date.

It was the day, just one year prior, that I released Anthony to God while in worship at Radiance in Hollywood, and he heard from the Lord what he was supposed to do about me while in prayer at the church on Mt Baldy.

Anthony obeyed. We both surrendered. And now, we have an anniversary.

Our story illustrates Matthew 16:25 —

“If you try to save your life, you will lose it. But if you lose your life for (Jesus’) sake, you will find it.”

I admit I haven’t always lived by this verse, but every time I have, things have turned out excellently.

As I shared at church this morning, if there’s anything that you really want but there’s a tension about it, just surrender it to the Lord, give it all to Him, and if it’s meant for you, He will give it back to you in a way that’s greater than you could even imagine.

The more detailed story is written on our original April 7 Anniversary blog post.

Praise be to God.
